With over 20 years of recruitment experience, Alex started her career at Pathway Resourcing where, through her tenacity and natural leadership, she quickly climbed the ladder and was soon heading up the entire contract team.
Following her success, in 2010, Alex came together with Jonathan Ellerbeck and Daniel Wallis to found Gravitas. Building on over a decade of working together, the trio wanted to create a specialist recruitment firm that would offer an unrivalled service to clients and candidates within Technology and Insurance. Alex’s commitment, energy and exceptional leadership skills have been pivotal in Gravitas’ continuous growth and success. In July 2023, Alex became Chief People Officer.
Alex looks after all things to do with career development, leadership coaching and development, management of performance, and all things cultural and environmental, including how the Gravitonian Eco-system can be brought to life. Alex also sits on all the boards, driving through the people agenda.
Alex also leads the award winning Learning & Development team – who she praises as a phenomenal set of individuals with a real diverse background of recruitment, sales and life coaching experience, and programmes which cover all of the different career levels from junior consultant all the way through to leadership development.
Alex’s love for her job comes from the people, both from an internal and external perspective. Alex loves finding out about people and what makes them tick, why they do what they do, and why they have made certain decisions in their lives – she has always been extremely inquisitive and likes to understand how people have got to where they are in life – partly so she can learn from them to help improve herself, but also so she can share that wisdom with others. Alex is incredibly passionate about DEI and it is her mission to ensure that everyone in Gravitas feels included and accepted so they can be the best version of themselves.
Outside of work, Alex is a committedyoga and pilates devotee – practicing one or the other every day.If you can’t find her on a mat, she is outside in the fresh air! She lives in the beautiful countryside so tries to get out as much as she can.
