Actuarial

Our client is a leading organisation in the insurance sector, known for its collaborative culture and commitment to excellence. They are looking for an actuarial professional to support critical functions such as pricing, reserving, capital, and risk activities. This role involves applying advanced actuarial techniques to deliver insightful analysis, support decision-making, and meet regulatory standards. It is an essential part of the team aimed at ensuring financial stability and strategic growth.

Role Overview:
The purpose of this role is to provide actuarial expertise to support pricing, reserving, and risk management processes within the wider team. The role involves conducting modelling, analysis, and reporting to improve business outcomes and compliance.

Key Skills & Experience:
• 1–10 years' actuarial experience within insurance, reinsurance, or a related financial services environment
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex results
• Working knowledge of actuarial concepts such as pricing, reserving, capital, and risk
• Proficiency in Excel and at least one analytical/programming tool (e.g., R, Python, SQL, SAS, VBA or similar)
• Experience handling large datasets and applying quality control techniques
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial qualifications or equivalent expertise
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and explain assumptions

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform actuarial modelling and analysis for pricing, reserving, and profitability monitoring
• Support capital and risk assessments, including scenario testing, sensitivities, and stress testing
• Assist with reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, auditability, and compliance with controls
• Validate data inputs, investigate anomalies, and document assumptions and methodologies
• Contribute to model development and maintenance, including experience studies and trend analyses
• Prepare summaries and present findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Underwriting, Risk, and Operations to improve decision-making and processes

Requirements:
• 1–10 years’ actuarial experience within insurance, reinsurance, or a closely related financial services environment
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Excel and at least one analytical or programming tool (e.g., R, Python, SQL, SAS, VBA)
• Experience with large datasets, quality checks, and reconciliation techniques
• Progress towards or completion of actuarial qualifications
• Right to work in the specified location and willingness to work on-site in Xiamen, NA, China
