This is a full-time position based in Shanghai, China. As the China Marketing Lead, you will be responsible for shaping and executing marketing strategies that align with corporate and business objectives in the Chinese market. This role requires a strategic mindset, deep market knowledge, and a strong ability to collaborate across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic marketing plans and KPIs to support business, brand, and corporate goals in China.
  • Coordinate with joint venture marketing teams to align strategies and amplify brand presence.
  • Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, events, social media, and web platforms.
  • Lead the digital and social platform strategy for onshore China stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, compliance, thought leadership, and operations.
  • Leverage data and analytics to evaluate performance and optimise marketing initiatives.
  • Manage agency relationships to ensure quality execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Lead content review and language adaptations for marketing materials in Chinese, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness.

Required Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in marketing within asset management, fintech, or financial services in China.
  • Proven experience handling brand development, digital strategies, traditional media, and event marketing.
  • Expertise in Chinese social media platforms (WeChat, Weibo) and local marketing practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across both international and local teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of investment asset classes including equities, fixed income, ETFs, and alternatives.
  • Established network of agency and vendor partnerships within mainland China.
  • Familiarity with sponsorship and partnership opportunities in the Chinese market.
  • Ability to operate effectively within global organisations and joint venture environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with strong writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Strategic and innovative approach, capable of adapting to China’s dynamic market environment.
