Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join their team as a Financial & Regulatory Reporting Team Head/Deputy Team Head based in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial and regulatory reporting functions, ensuring compliance with all relevant local and international standards, and contributing to overall financial governance and controls.
This role is pivotal in supporting the bank's senior management in regulatory submissions, financial disclosures, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting to key stakeholders including regulatory bodies, auditors, and internal committees. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of accounting standards, and an understanding of regulatory frameworks in the financial services industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team responsible for all aspects of financial and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial reports in compliance with Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
- Review and enhance internal controls and processes related to financial and regulatory reporting.
- Support implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including Risk, Compliance, Audit, and external parties such as auditors and regulators.
- Provide technical accounting advice and support strategic business decisions from a financial reporting perspective.
- Drive process improvements and digital initiatives within the finance function.
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in banking or financial services, with at least 3 years in a managerial position related to financial and regulatory reporting.
- Solid knowledge of HKMA requirements, IFRS, and other applicable regulatory regimes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Proficient in MS Excel, with knowledge of banking systems and reporting tools being advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Cantonese is required.
