A well-established Hong Kong-based conglomerate is seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to lead the financial management and strategic planning for operations in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic financial plans to support long-term business goals. Operating as a critical business partner, they will collaborate closely with senior management to provide financial insights and recommendations that drive performance. The role encompasses full oversight of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning and analysis, with responsibility for ensuring alignment with corporate objectives throughout the organisation.
Operationally, the Financial Controller will manage all aspects of finance including accounting, treasury, tax compliance, and internal controls across both Hong Kong and Mainland China. A key part of the role includes proactively identifying and managing financial risks, ensuring ongoing compliance with all relevant local regulations and international standards. The successful candidate will also be tasked with leading and developing a high-performing finance team, encouraging a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
This role requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, including a proven track record in financial strategy and leading cross-border teams. Experience within industrial or real-sector environments is highly desirable. The ideal individual will demonstrate a strong strategic mindset with the ability to align financial goals with broader corporate vision. Strong technical expertise in financial regulations, tax law, and accounting standards in both Hong Kong and Mainland China is essential.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital, particularly the ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline, with professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA strongly preferred. Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is required due to the cross-border nature of the role and its stakeholder base.
