We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the operational risk management function, overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust framework that aligns with Basel and regulatory requirements. This position is based in Hong Kong and offers a competitive salary in HKD. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with various departments across the Group to effectively embed operational risk management strategies, policies, and procedures. They will play a key role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, mitigating, and reporting operational risk exposures across multiple business lines.

The role includes overseeing the administration and monitoring of product and service-related risks at a bank-wide level and contributing to due diligence processes for both insourced and outsourced activities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for formulating and managing business continuity planning and risk mitigation strategies, including developing, maintaining, and executing business continuity policies, emergency response plans, and testing drills. Additionally, they will be involved in leading operational risk efforts for ASEAN institutions and subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with overall Group policies and regulatory expectations.

This position also involves promoting an organisational culture that prioritises operational risk awareness and compliance. Regular training sessions will be conducted to ensure staff at all levels understand their roles in managing risk. The individual will need to show strong leadership, a proactive attitude towards improvements, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, FRM, PRM, or CIA are highly desirable. A minimum of ten years' experience in bank risk management is required, with at least six years in a leadership or managerial position. An in-depth understanding of local regulatory frameworks and market practices is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of banking operations and risk management methodologies.

Exceptional communication skills in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are necessary to effectively interact with various stakeholders. The candidate must have a strong ability to identify potential risks, articulate risk mitigation strategies clearly, oversee comprehensive implementation plans, and ensure their timely execution while maintaining high standards of control and compliance.
