We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our client's Electronic Trading Technology team, focused on supporting a leading Investment Bank’s order management system (OMS) and FIC protocol initiatives. Based in Hong Kong, this key role involves end-to-end delivery of critical solutions for the Delta 1 flow and trading system enhancements. You will be instrumental in shaping the platform architecture and driving simplification initiatives, ensuring robustness and agility in a competitive market.
In this role, you will enhance our in-house connectivity platform, leveraging your expertise to optimise and reduce system latency. You will work closely with internal teams to gather requirements, coordinate development, implement solutions, and support production operations with a focus on high availability and reliability. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise low-latency Java applications for trading systems
- Enhance OMS and integrate FIC protocols within the trading infrastructure
- Improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Support production systems and ensure minimal downtime
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Apply automated testing and performance analysis to ensure system quality
Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience with a specialisation in low-latency systems
- Strong knowledge of FIX protocol and its practical application in trading environments
- Proven ability to develop robust, scalable, and high-performance applications
- Experience in automated testing and test harness development
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive under pressure
- Familiarity with market data feeds, latency tuning and performance testing
