Job Summary

A leading consultancy firm is seeking an experienced Actuarial Consultant specialising in General Insurance. The successful candidate will provide actuarial consulting services to clients, support regulatory reporting, and contribute to risk management and pricing strategy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide actuarial consulting services to general insurance clients, including pricing, reserving, and capital modelling.
  • Support regulatory reporting, risk management, and financial modelling projects.
  • Develop and implement actuarial models to support business decision-making.
  • Assist in market analysis, product development, and strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality actuarial solutions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for clients, senior management, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Progress towards or completion of actuarial qualifications (e.g., FIA, FSA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of actuarial experience within general insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial techniques, including reserving, pricing, and capital modelling.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages such as R, Python, or VBA.
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong insurance regulations and reporting standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a consultancy or corporate actuarial role.
  • Familiarity with IFRS 17 implementation and risk-based capital frameworks.
  • Exposure to data analytics and machine learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, or other data analytic tools.
