A well-established local bank in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Assistant Mortgage Manager to support its expanding mortgage business. This position calls for a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to oversee the origination, processing and administration of residential and commercial mortgage loans, ensuring that all lending practices are in line with industry regulations, internal policies, and risk management frameworks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end mortgage operations, including client onboarding, conducting credit assessments, and preparing relevant loan documentation. The role involves working closely with internal departments and external parties to monitor loan approvals, disbursements and repayments. You will be expected to lead a team, provide coaching and training support, and contribute to the enhancement of workflow efficiency. Identifying market trends and participating in product and pricing strategy discussions will also form an essential part of your contribution.
The ideal applicant should possess a university degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending, preferably within retail or commercial banking. Strong knowledge of the Hong Kong property market, mortgage products and regulatory framework is essential. Candidates must demonstrate solid analytical, compliance and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Fluency in Cantonese and English is required, and proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage.
Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications and banking systems, are necessary for success in this role. Candidates with experience in system enhancement projects or procedural streamlining will be viewed favourably.
