Operations Assistant

The role involves supporting structured note and derivatives trade processing, ensuring daily reconciliation of traders’ blotters against system records and broker trade confirmations. It also includes handling trade settlements, market data administration, and liaising with traders, brokers, and custodians to resolve settlement discrepancies. This position is vital to maintain accurate transaction records, ensure regulatory compliance, and support ad-hoc projects, contributing to the smooth operation of the organisation’s trading activities.
Role Overview:
The Operations Assistant is responsible for supporting trade processing and settlement activities within the team, ensuring efficient and accurate transaction management to facilitate the company’s trading operations.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or above
• 1-2 years’ experience in banking or financial institutions, preferably in securities settlement
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
• Strong command of written and spoken English, Chinese, and Putonghua
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform daily reconciliation of traders’ blotters against system records and broker confirmations
• Handle trade settlements and market data administration
• Collaborate with the head office for SecMaster creation and market price updates
• Liaise with traders, brokers, and custodians to resolve settlement issues or discrepancies
• Maintain proper transaction records
• Work with the sales team to address derivatives trade booking issues
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Support ad-hoc projects as required
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or above
• 1-2 years’ experience in banking or financial institutions, preferably in securities settlement
• Fresh graduates are welcome
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
• Proficiency in English, Chinese, and Putonghua
Nice to Have:
• Knowledge in SWIFT, Clearstream, or CCASS
