Overview

This role supports a finance securities firm by producing high-quality investment research and client-ready insights. You will develop deep expertise in one primary asset class (equities, fixed income, structured products, FX, or funds) and translate market developments into actionable, high-conviction views for defined client segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain deep expertise in one primary asset class (equities, fixed income, structured products, FX, or funds).
  • Conduct market research, monitor macro and micro developments, and generate actionable investment insights within the assigned vertical.
  • Serve as a dedicated investment resource for specific client segments.
  • Tailor investment views and product recommendations to meet the risk-return profiles and preferences of assigned clients.
  • Partner with relationship managers and sales teams to deliver timely, relevant, and high-conviction investment commentary.
  • Prepare client-facing materials including market updates, thematic notes, trade rationales, and performance reviews.
  • Support the investment idea pipeline by screening opportunities, analysing catalysts and risks, and tracking recommended positions.
  • Ensure research and communications align with internal governance and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in investment research, wealth management advisory, or a front-office role within a securities firm, private bank, or asset management company (fresh graduates are also welcome to apply).
  • Deep understanding of investment products and markets across Greater China and global markets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements, valuation metrics, and market data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with clients, sales teams, and senior management.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for different audiences.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement under time pressure, and strong prioritisation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with market data platforms is advantageous.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently timely, accurate, and insightful commentary that supports client engagement and investment decisions.
  • Strong collaboration with relationship managers and sales teams to drive relevance and impact.
  • Trusted coverage of the assigned asset class with a well-maintained, evidence-based investment view.
