As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust data pipelines to ingest and process data from a variety of sources into the cloud platform. You will define and standardise data assets to ensure consistent, high-quality data delivery across the business. Supporting the design and development of scalable data architectures and integration solutions, you will play a key role in enabling the business to become more data-driven. The role also includes establishing platform standards to support ongoing data evolution, ensuring data quality and security through governance processes, and providing BAU support and project management assistance. Your work will contribute directly to improving the overall data ecosystem by identifying and integrating new tools and technologies.
To be successful in this role, you will need a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Data, Computer Science, or a related field. You should bring a minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in working with large-scale data platforms and associated technologies. Proficiency in SQL and either Python or Scala is essential. You should also have hands-on experience with big data tools such as Databricks and Spark, as well as both SQL and NoSQL databases. A strong understanding of various data modelling techniques and expertise in the implementation of data products is required. You must be an excellent problem-solver with analytical thinking abilities, and possess exceptional communication skills that enable effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners. Being proactive, self-initiated, and a strong team player will be key to thriving in this role.
