Actuarial Senior Manager

We are looking for an experienced Actuarial Senior Manager to join a dynamic team committed to excellence. This role involves overseeing actuarial delivery, governance, and stakeholder engagement across key areas such as pricing, reserving, capital, and financial reporting. Role Overview:

The Actuarial Senior Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end actuarial workstreams, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The role involves managing pricing and portfolio performance analysis, reserving processes, and supporting capital and risk modeling activities. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure governance, and collaborate across functions to enhance actuarial processes and insights.

Key Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years’ actuarial experience within insurance or reinsurance
• Qualified actuary (e.g., FIA/FFA or equivalent) or near-qualified with relevant experience
• Strong expertise in at least two of: pricing, reserving, capital, or actuarial reporting
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and engaging with senior stakeholders
• Solid understanding of actuarial governance and model risk management
• Advanced analytical skills with experience in Excel, SQL, R, Python, or similar tools

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end actuarial workstreams ensuring accuracy, robustness, and timely delivery
• Oversee pricing and portfolio performance analysis, including assumptions setting and diagnostics
• Manage reserving processes, ensuring appropriate methodology and documentation
• Support capital and risk modeling activities, translating results into actionable insights
• Provide governance over models, controls, and change management processes
• Collaborate with Finance on financial close, forecasting, and management reporting
• Prepare materials for senior management, audits, and regulatory reviews
• Lead and develop the actuarial team through coaching, performance management, and capability building
• Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of actuarial tools and processes

Requirements:

• Right to work in the location specified (on-site in GZ, Guangdong, China)
• 10+ years’ relevant actuarial experience
• Qualified actuary or near-qualified with substantial experience
• Strong expertise in multiple actuarial disciplines, particularly in pricing, reserving, capital, or reporting
• Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience with actuarial governance, model risk management, and internal controls
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in an Asia-Pacific market or with cross-border teams
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks and audit processes
• Track record of process automation and data-driven transformation
